Love~Live~Life

As I woke up this morning reflecting on what it means to have lived another year of life, my mind kept going back to one of my favorite quotes. It's an anonymous quote that reads;

"In the end, all that matters
is how well you lived,
how well you loved
and learned to let go"

As I think back over my life over the last year, it prompts me to ask myself did I live well, did I allow myself to love and be loved, and was I able to let go.

In this crazy 24 hour world we live in, and particularly in a town that feeds itself off of the race to the top and the next big scandal, it can be hard to take the time to reflect and give yourself pause to truly live, love, and it's definitely hard to let go.

I have three birthday wishes for myself and for all of us,

1) That we become intentional about finding the time, in our busy important lives, to make sure that we are truly living and allowing ourselves to be fully present in life. So often we race through our day and rarely ever really take the time to experience the blessings in life that surrounds us. When was the last time you paused in the middle of the day on your way wherever you were going and took a deep relaxing breathe and really absorbed your surroundings?

2) For us to, from time to time, take off the armour we use to get through our day and our sometimes difficult lives, and allow ourselves to experience love in all it's forms. Don't be afraid to let others know you love them and be open to receiving the love around you.

3) Actively work to let go. We have all had difficult experiences in life. We have all been hurt, disappointed, mislead, or worse at some point in our lives. While we should take those life lessons with us on our journey, we should leave the hurt, disappointment, distrust, and sorrow behind. It's a continuous process, but we must try in order to allow ourselves to live and love.

On this my birthday, I wish for all those in my circle of love and life, boundless love and the goodness of life.

Remember,

"In the end, all that matters
is how well you lived,
how well you loved
and learned to let go"
